Grab It Like You Want It

In the mid 80’s there was an influx of female rap/hip-hop artists, Salt-N-Pepa being the most popular of course. There were also others such as Roxanne, J.J. Fad, Klymaxx, Pebbles, etc., but none had the sheer silliness as L’Trimm.

L”Trimm was a peppy, silly duo made up of Tigra (Lady T) and Bunny D. They were young and hot, so of course they were signed immediately, nevermind that they lacked any REAL talent. What they had going for them were their looks and goofy lyrics.

In 1988 they scored a minor hit with “(We Like) The Cars That Go Boom” It became a B-Girl classic actually and is still played on the radio today.
The album Grab It! also contained the song “Grab It” which was basically a play on Salt—N-Pepa’s ”Push It”. This is the song I chose for today. It’s a catchy little tune that really is borderline dirty.
“You've got ta grab that thing when it's up in your face, cuz if you don't he'll go another place...”
“OOOO, I got it! Now whatcha gonna do with it?”
Too funny!

L’Trimm followed up with 2 more albums, 1989’s Drop That Bottom and 1991’s Groovy, but neither sold well and the girls faded from the scene.

Where are they today? I have no idea. I can’t find any info on them past about 1992. If anyone knows what they are doing now, please give me a shout with the info.

*Note* At posting time the music server was a bit slow. If you hit play and give it a minute, it will connect.
